About

Hi, I’m Burkhard.

I write here about credit insurance, surety, trade finance and political risk – from the perspective of someone who has spent the last 17 years inside the industry.

Today

I am Global Head of Multinational Clients (Trade Credit & Trade Finance) at WTW, the global broking firm. I work with treasurers, CFOs and credit managers of multinationals on cross-border credit insurance and trade-finance programs.

Before WTW

I spent more than a decade at Aon Credit Solutions, most recently as a member of the executive board (2019–2023) and as Global Head of Innovation and Developing Markets (2023–2024). I started my career at Coface in the United Kingdom during the 2009 financial crisis, and I hold an MBA whose thesis examined how multinational corporations approach the procurement of credit insurance.

About this blog

I launched WorldOfCreditInsurance.com in 2021 as a private project. It is – and stays – a personal blog: an outlet for what I find interesting in the industry, and a place to give a voice to colleagues, clients and emerging talents through occasional interviews. I write here in my own time and in my own name.
